ABSTRACT
An investigation of the prolonged effect of insecticides treated net on hepatic function was performed using albino rats. The albino rats were divided into 2 groups of which 1st group was placed under treated net and the 2nd group was the control. They were all kept for seven days. There was general decrease in physical activities and body weights of all the animals placed under treated net. A significant (p< 0.05) decrease was noticed in protein levels of the animals placed under treated net than the control. There was also a significant (P > 0.05) increase in serum enzyme activity in albino rats placed under treated net. The increased values of specific activity of the enzymes reveal the extent of damage done to the liver as evidence of leakages of enzymes from damaged liver cells into the circulation.
