A REVIEW ON EMERGING RISK OF BLINDNESS AND EYE CARE IGNORANCE

ABSTRACT
Existence of a large number of ophthalmic diseases is more common than we supposed. Some ocular diseases can easily recognize like conjunctivitis, cataract, glaucoma, smiplex herpes eye infection. Diseases responsible for the ocular disease and vision impaired affect for example congenital infection, hypertension, arthritis, hyperthyroidism, disease related to nervous, hematologic malignancies, and/or systemic infections. This review high lights those condition which increases the number of cases of blindness and vision impairments. We will also discuss about the increasing number of
cases of blindness in children due to increasing use of cell phones, tablets, computer, television and deficiency of vitamin A. Practice of traditional medicines and ignorance of eye care is the major cause of blindness in rural area.
