Abstract

DERSTANDING THE CONCEPTS OF AHARA - A REVIEW ARTICLE

ABSTRACT

Ayurveda is giving importance to two important concepts namely, Swasthsya Swastha Rakshanam and Athurasya Vikara Prasamanam. For attaining the healthy state, the main important factor is Ahara (food). This should be consumed according to the Agni Bala ( strength of the digestive fire). It varies according to the individuals. Also there are different foods which are indicated and also contraindicated. Consuming of these foods can either lead to healthy state or diseased state. In this review article, it is highlighting about the different types of Aharas indicated and contraindicated along with the importance of the Agni (digestive fire).
